Ragi Laadu or Finger Millets Ladoo is a very tasty and a healthy laddu. There are many laddu varieties but ragi laddu is very nutritious. Ragulu in Telugu or Finger Millets in English as we call is a very rich in nutrients millet. When compared to other millets and cereals, Ragi is rich in protiens, it is also a good source of calcium and iron. It helps in weight reduction because of its slow digestion rate.
Also it is fewer in calories and rich in fibers. Regular consumption of Ragi lowers the risk of cholestrol and diabetes.

Ingredients for Ragi Ladoo:

Ingredients for Ragi Ladoo:
2. Ghee - 1/4 cup (For roasting)
3. Sugar Powder - 1/2 cup
4. Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp
5. Ghee - 1/2 cup (For making laddus)
6. Grated Coconut Powder - As needed
Procedure:
1. Heat a thick bottomed pan, add 1/4 cup ghee add allow the ghee to melt
2. Now add ragi flour and roast the flour till it changes its colour and nice aroma comes out
3. It takes almost 10 to 15 minutes for roasting the flour on low flame
4. Now switch off the flame and add sugar powder and cardamom powder to the roasted ragi flour
5. Let it cool down for 5 to 7 minutes
6. When it is still warm add remaining 1/2 cup ghee and start making Laddus
7. After making ladoos, spread grated coconut powder in a plate and roll the ladoos in the coconut powder so that it sticks to the ladoo all over
8. Healthy and nutritious ragi Laddu is ready. Store in an air tight container, they stay good for almost 15 days to 1 month
9. Rolling in coconut powder gives a nice appetizing look to the black laddus.
