Sago alias sabudana payasam is my favourite payasam among all other payasams like semiya payasam, poha payasam, rice and jaggery payasam etc. My grandma used to cook it in my childhood. My mouth is watering on remembering its taste OMG!....lol :)
Ingredients for Sago Payasam
1. Sago-1/2 cup2. Milk-2 cups
3. Water-2 cups
4. Sugar-4 to 5 tbsps
5. Cardamom Powder-1/4 tsp
6. Ghee-2 tbsps
7. Cashewnuts-as per taste
8. Raisins-as per taste
Procedure - How to make Sago Payasam
1. Wash and soak sago alias sabudana in water for about half an hour
2. Heat ghee and lightly fry cashews and raisins
3. Boil soaked sago along with water used to soak it.
White coloured sago turns to transparent form which shows it cooked well
4. Add milk to it and let it boil again
5. Add sugar and cook well
6. Add cardamom powder for better aroma
7. Switch off the flame and serve sago payasam with fried cashews and raisins
8. Add ghee we used for frying. Tasty and yummy Sago Payasam or Sabudana Payasam is ready...:)
